Tyra Banks, Top Chef, wine and vice

No, I'm not saying that it's vicious to watch reality TV (though I'm not necessarily opposed to the sentiment). One of the fun things about teaching the seven capital vices (a.k.a., the seven deadly sins) in my Virtues and Vices course is seeing students make connections between the vices and pop culture.  This is one of the reasons I have them watch the film Se7en.  Students have pointed out to me episodes of America's Next Top Model and Top Chef based on the theme of the seven capital vices--I've watched both episodes, and neither would make Dante proud. 

Last week, I found the following gift by my office door:

Allison and I haven't tried it yet, but even if it's not good, at least my students have learned something (though how much they've learned is another question!).  Here is the back of the bottle:

The Divine Comedy it certainly is not.
