I woke up today to two emails related to two of the books I'm working on. Here is part of the email from the copy-editor for the Free Will volume:
The editing of your book, 'Free Will', is now complete, earlier than the scheduled date. We have a list of queries that the editor has raised in the course of editing. These queries were to reach you on January 24, 2008. We are writing to ask if we could mail these to you later today, or tomorrow, since we have them ready. You could review the queries and respond to them by January 31.
31 January? Sure, that'll be no problem. I'm pretty free these days.
I also had an email related to the philosophy of religion anthology. Permissions have been denied by the original publisher to reproduce one of the articles that I wanted to use. And the same publisher is asking for £1,000 to reproduce one 40-page book chapter that I really want to include. Ouch. Well, at least the dollar is strong against the pound. Oh, wait....
