I'm now officially done with my free will manuscript. Well, that is, until the publisher and/or reviewers tell me to make changes. But I've now printed out the entire thing and it's being copied so that I can post it to the publisher, so I'm going to celebrate anyway. Here is it in all its 235 pages of glory:
I came in 104 word over my limit of 60,000, which I think is pretty good. While I've had a great time working on this project, I confess that I am relieved that it is coming to an end. I'm sure that one reason is that I'm anxious to see the book that it will become. If you include the time spent writing the dissertation, the last 5 years of my professional life have been mainly about free will. And while I plan on continuing to write on issues of free will, I don't think it will be with quite the same focus as before.
There are a few more pictures below the fold...
Riley came to the office today with me to help celebrate:

Congrats, Kevin! I can't wait to see it in print. Now if only I were at the same stage with my dissertation...
I see that you conveniently cut out the drawing on the white board of you in an anarchy t-shirt, but I must admit that the before-and-after made me laugh. Out loud. There is some strange satisfaction in erasing/crossing out a project, even after the satisfaction of actually finishing said project has been thoroughly rolled in. Go Timpe!
Thanks, Neal. While I'm sure you won't agree with everything in the book, your influence on it (and my thoughts) is found throughout.
Kidd, you make me laugh. I actually had to erase that drawing, so it's no longer there. Allison did draw another picture of me, but I haven't added the A to the shirt yet. Perhaps I should again...
