This week, I've sent two co-authored papers off to journals for review. The first of these is a paper on free will in heaven that Tim and I have been working on for a while, and which inspired this verse. (I know, I should stick with philosophy, not poetry.)
The second is a paper at the intersection of philosophy, law, and psychiatry that grew out of this experience. My co-author on this paper is my friend H's son, who is a student at Oxford and who interned this past summer at the forensic psychiatry clinic at the San Diego Superior Court (where H works). This paper is slightly different than much of my other work, including that it's not written for an academic philosophy journal but rather for a journal for practicing psychiatrists. It's been a lot of fun to work on, and in a few weeks I'm giving a presentation based on it as part of Parents' Weekend at USD.
I also anticipate sending my free will monograph to the publisher in the next few weeks, after I make some final revisions. That will be a big weight lifted, as this has been my primary research project for the past year.
Lest I loose momentum, I'm already thinking about what I'll do next. I hope to revise the paper on tracing I mentioned here after the conference where I'm presenting it later this month. And I think that I'm going to start writing the section introductions to the textbook I'm working on.
I think I'll find enough to keep me busy for a bit.
