Back in May, I posted about a proposal I'd sent off to Routledge for a philosophy of religion anthology they wanted me to do. I just heard back from my editor that the proposal was met with "great enthusiasm" by the relevant folks (or 'deciders', as W might say) at Routledge. I'm still tinkering with a few of the selections, partly because they want me to add a sixth section, so the exact contents are still up in the air. They want a draft of the manuscript by next summer, so hopefully in early 2009 you'll be able to go purchase a copy of Arguing About Religion.
A Green Light to Argue about Religion...

Ah yes, adding a sixth section will help justify an outrageous price! But I'm sure it will be worth it. I'm eager to get a copy.
Actually Keith, the extant volumes in this series all sell for $35 or less paperback (and have all been released initially in paperback). Given that the aesthetics volume is 500 pages and the metaethics volume is 640, that's not a bad price at all. It looks like the philosophy of religion volume might reach 700. And the editor has told me they plan on keeping the volume at $35.
I'm eager to get a copy too--for that will mean the work is done!
Splendid! Honestly, I didn't expect an initial release in paperback. I agree; $35 is quite reasonable for anything approaching 700 pages!
That sounds great, Kevin! Way to go! You are awesome!
Well, back to the heavenly freedom paper.
Tim
Congratulations, Kevin! It looks like a project worthy of "great enthusiasm."
